As your website developer and hosting provider, I am committed to delivering reliable, well-functioning services. However, it is essential to clearly define the limits of my role and the responsibilities that rest with you as the client.

Legal & Regulatory Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring your website complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Accessibility Standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1, ADA, Section 508)
  • Privacy & Data Protection Laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others specific to your region or audience)
  • Consumer Protection Laws
  • Copyright and Intellectual Property Regulations
  • Required Legal Disclaimers, Terms of Use, and Privacy Policies

While I may assist with implementing requested features or provide general guidance, I do not perform legal audits or guarantee compliance. Responsibility for legal review and ongoing compliance remains entirely with you.

Content Responsibility

All content on your website — including text, images, videos, files, and product listings — is your responsibility. You are responsible for ensuring it is accurate, lawful, and properly licensed.

Third-Party Services & Plugins

If your website uses third-party services, plugins, or integrations (e.g., analytics tools, booking systems, payment processors), you are responsible for reviewing and complying with their terms of service and ensuring they function as expected.

Security, Maintenance & Updates

Unless separately contracted, ongoing website maintenance — including software updates, plugin management, backups, and security monitoring — is your responsibility. I recommend that all clients implement routine maintenance and security practices or retain a qualified provider to manage these tasks.

E-Commerce & Payment Compliance

If your website involves online payments or stores sensitive customer data, you are responsible for compliance with PCI DSS and any other relevant financial or consumer regulations. I do not monitor or enforce e-commerce compliance standards.

Hosting Environment

If your site is hosted through a third-party provider (including those I help configure), server uptime, performance, and data handling are subject to the terms and limitations of that provider. I do not assume liability for third-party outages or data loss.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, my total liability for any damages, losses, or claims arising from services I provide — including but not limited to accessibility, compliance, functionality, or third-party integrations — is strictly limited to the total amount you paid me for the specific service in question. Under no circumstances shall my liability exceed that amount.
